This is an abbreviation for 'Private Message'

Click on the member's name on the first post of the Thread.
One of the tabs then shown is called 'Contact Info'
Within this, one of the link options is
'Send a private message to xxxxxx'

Click on this and send message.

If you are a new member and/or have a low post count, the number of PMs you can send per day is limited. (Limit has been set up to prevent spamming with Private Messages)

Contacting a Moderator to correct a mistake in your post.
If you make an error in your Thread/post which you cannot correct yourself, Moderators can do it for you. The most efficient method of contacting them is to 'report' the post. Click on this ikon at top right of the message. This sends your report (and the link to the relevant post) to all the current moderators.

If you need to contact a specific Moderator, this list is here. Don't forget that Moderators, contrary to popular belief, have a life outside EF and are perhaps not available when you send you message.
