So, if I understand it correctly, one isn't actually purchasing the recorder itself (which IIRC remains the property of Cablecom), but the service for three months. Or am I mistaken?

Media boxes are usually rented from UPC Cc. via subscription and remain their property. Am surprised to see one offered for sale.

You are selling a cablecom subscription, not the recorder.
With a classic subscription you pay 12,50 including recorder rent
