I have a 16Gb iPhone 4 to sell. It is in perfect working order, with all accessories and box. I have always kept it in a case with screen protector. It's only flaw is a scratch to the metal ring around it near the charger socket (the case did not cover this bit). It even still has the original protective film on the back of the phone. It was actually replaced for a completely new unit by apple about 8 months ago.

HOWEVER... As it was bought in the US it is SIM locked to AT&T, so it would either need to be:

a) Jailbroken
b) Used in the US/with an AT&T sim card
c) It can be used with a Gevey pro SIM adapter Which I can also provide.

I was lucky enough to get a new phone over Xmas so no longer need this one. I would like to get about 500 swiss francs for it, but am open to negotiation/offers.

I hope the OP finds someone willing to purchase this iPhone for the price he is asking. It sounds as if it is in great condition. If the OP could provide some additional information regarding the baseband, SHSH blobs, and operating system then it might turn out that the phone is actually worth the price.

However, I provide the below information for those uninformed buyers who might think that it is as easy as jailbreaking or purchasing a Gevey SIM adapter to get this phone to work in Switzerland.

For those who might not know, Jalibreaking the phone will not allow you to use an alternate SIM card. In order to use a non-AT&T SIM card in this phone you will be required to "unlock" the phone.

Unfortunately, these two terms are often confused especially since an iPhone 4 can only be unlocked with software if it is running one of the older basebands (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00). Seeing that the OP received a replacement from Apple 8 months ago it is highly unlikely (aka, virtually impossible) that the phone is running one of these older basebands. If he actually receive a phone running an older baseband then unless the OP went through the process to preserved his baseband each time he upgraded to a new iOS then you are out of luck to use a software unlock.

The Gevey will unlock basebands 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1 and 4.10.1 if you are running iOS 4. However, if you are running iOS 5 then you would have to downgrade to iOS 4.x.x. In order to be able to downgrade from iOS5 to iOS 4.x.x you would have to have that particular iPhone's SHSH blobs. Unless the original OP has saved these you are out of luck to use the Gevey sim adapter to unlock the phone.

Like I said, I'm offering it here if it will help anyone, I have other options. And seeing as people frequently move back to the US it could be a good way for them to get a useful iPhone.

The phone is IOS 4, so can easily be used with Gevey/jailbreaking, and there are lots of other unlock systems apparently. I just can't be bothered with them and no longer need to as I have a new phone. I have no plans of moving to the US.

If you look up the serial number I'm sure you can find all the information you need.

Seeing that the phone is still running iOS 4 then by simply providing the baseband you would exponentially increase you chances of selling the phone not only here but from whatever platform you use. Unfortunately, the serial number does not provide this information. The baseband can be found on you phone by going to Setting>General>About and slide down and look next to modem firmware.

To clarify, as I mentioned in my previous post, jailbreaking will not allow you to use a locked iphone with another carrier's SIM card. Only unlocking the phone will do this. The reason I emphasize the distinction is that new "jailbreaks" come out within days or hours of an upgraded iOS being released, "unlocks" have been frozen to old basebands for quite a while now.

500 CHF?? you must be kiding, if you want to sell it asap, i can only recomend to try some other " methods" as i don't think somebody will pay so much for a looked, used iphone.

I bought 1 month ago on EF a brand new iphone 4 16 GB Orange looked with 400 CHF. i guess 350-400 CHF would be the most you can get.
