Apple Leopard DVD, new, ships to you directly from apple

I can get a Leopard DVD for free since I bought my computer recently. But I don't need it because my school has a license.

So, I'm offering here 1 Leopard OS X (10.5) DVD. It will ship to you directly from apple once you send money to my bank account.

It costs 189 CHF from apple. Since it is in new condition, I'm asking 150 CHF.

Please e-mail me and also post your name here, just to be sure. Then I'll send my bank account info to the "winner".

You're getting it free (and admitting it) and pawning it off for 150 Swissies?

Capitalism is alive and well.

By the way, "free" is a funny term here anyways.

You can also get one for "free" if you buy a 3500- laptop.

So that's why I don't feel so badly.

Maybe not pirated, but not sure it would be completely following the terms of the license,

As the license was provided to you in connection with the purchase of the machine I would assume it has some sort of OEM licence attached to it. and in general OEM licenses are not transferable to another machine.

Re: Apple Leopard DVD, new, ships to you directly from apple

I wrote to someone at Apple and will post the response here. I think it should be OK because I have never seen a copy of an Apple OS that works in this fashion. In fact, I've never seen a copy of any OS that works that way.

Anyone have a definitive answer?

Re: Apple Leopard DVD, new, ships to you directly from apple

OK, it's official... I have this guy's e-mail since I recently had problems with my old computer. His title is "AppleCare Specialist Admin Team"

Hello BobbyThank you for the email.

Regarding the " Mac OS X Leopard up to date program" -- the software is not restricted to one system ( or S/N) ( as long as that system meets the requirements ) you can install it.
Hope this helps

Going back to Panther (10.3) there was a problem in this area in that you weren't supposed to sell the disks which came with the system. Not only was there a licensing issue, but the original disks were built for the machine they accompanied, and might not work with other models. The safest way to upgrade from previous versions was to buy the official retail copy of Panther.

I can't remember what the situation was with Tiger (10.4), but I bought the official retail version of that to play safe.

For a price comparison, new/used versions of Leopard are being advertised on Amazon for USD 109.

Also, the Upgrade DVD comes with a sticker that clearly states, "Not For Resale". Other than that, it looks like you're good to go.

This sounds suspicious

"I am a Nigerian widow and need to tranfer my deceased husband's estate to a European bank account. I'm willing to share 50% if you just let me use your account... all I need is your bank number and personal details..."

Sorry if this isn't the case, but I recommend caution when transfering funds...
