| | | Looking for Kids toys/games
Hi
Does anyone have any kids games in reasonable condition that they would be willing to part with for a good price? I have 3 kids (age 8, 12 and 15) who are looking at a rather bleak Christmas as I it's out of my budget to buy them anything new at all this year. They all love games (card, board etc) but these things are so expensive new here.
I would also be interested in any do-it-yourself ideas. I am not very diy minded but I am certainly willing to learn or anything else cost efficient that would appeal to those age groups.
Thanks
Starbug

have a look at www.ricardo.ch i have bid and won quite a few of the auctions for toys etc and so far never had any bad experience with the sellers.usually you pay in advance and the stuff is then mailed to you and usually also very quick,so it could be just in time for x-mouse |

I think I have some random kind of version of cluedo and monopoly.
Let me know if you are interested, and I'll have a scoot around and see if I have anything else to line the stocking with.
Hope you guys have a great christmas. | | | | | That sounds great, I am definately interested!

Starbug, can't offer you anything I am afraid, but would recommend you visit the brocki. Before our shipping arrived, we virtually lived at our local one. I got our girl several jigsaws, cuddlytoys, draughts game etc. Most cost less than 2chf. I would pass them on to you, but I took them back. Sorry.

I have signed into Ricardo and am looking around the Brockis too. Thanks for your help and your goodwishes, perhaps it is time Christmas reverts to what it was earlier, a time to be grateful for the "little" things like good health, a roof and warmth.
Thank you again!

Hi Starbug,
Have you ever been to the toy library, or the Ludothek in German? The one we have here in Baar is fabulous, you pay just a few francs for the rental of the board game, bicycle or whatever and then you can have it for a month. This doesn't give them anything to unwrap on Christmas morning, but can be great for the rest of the year.

Lets do the switch!! You bring the hands.. I'll bring the board games to carry.
Its only two games.. monopoly and cluedo.. I'll try to russle up an appropriately sized plastic bag to make it easier to carry.
I am playing football from 12pm til about 2pm... so anytime after two would be doable.

Without wanting to get myself into too much bother, i think there's a spare teddy called Mohammed floating about that may not be too popular in its current location...

Starbug | | | | | Look out for the LudoThek in Bern, it is a kind of toy and game library. You should be able to borrow lots of stuff there to keep them gaming over Christmas.

You could join the yahoo group expat mums in switzerland and post on there (that is if you're not already a member, of course). There are often people selling/giving things away. I'm afraid my daughter is a lot younger as well, so we don't really have anything we can pass on to you, I'm afraid. But good luck and wishing you and your family a healthy and happy Christmas, even if the stocking is leaner than usual.
