So four months left which is a third. So techically and after doing some mental arithmetic this is only worth 13.33CHF now. In all fairness you can only get it for 40CHFs but the people who need one probably got one by now and the people who dont need one can wait to get one in 4 months for just 10chfs more..

It is 40 CHF but it is valid til January 31st, not December 1st. If someone needs to drive around in Switzerland for the remaining months of the year, they need it ANYWAY, so the value of it never goes down.

To be fair, you're quite right. If you should go to the Post Office now, they'd still charge you CHF 40 for the remainder of the year (oh and plus one month).
