Can you drive us on Mon 6th June from Ecublens to Geneva & back in our car?

well... we have BMW 318i and we need to pick up someone from Geneva airport on Monday the 6th of June 2011. the flight lands at 1.30 pm.
my husband can not drive right now so we are searching for someone who can drive us from ecublens to Geneva airport and back to ecublens. no halt in between just the time spent to pick them up. i guess total two hours will be sufficient.
we are actually not looking for some professional with a fat bill. anyone who can drive, who can take out few extra hours from his/her work and get a small amount in return..how small that can be discussed .
hope to hear from someone
thanks

Coincidently, I'm down at the CHUV, that day in the morning, for laser eye surgery - if I'm done in time, I may be able help (if it's not too sunny).

Ahh anyone call for a 'test pilot'?

Whats the record for Ecublens to Geneva + Back? Do you pick up the speeding tickets?

Can we bring our own tunes? Motorhead - Ace of Spades ? Happy Hardcore?

In all seriousness I'm sure someone will come along soon to help.

Cmon, people, let's cut the noise and hope OP will get a driver.

I agree, though, one should test first, just get him/her drive you around the block, merge on highway (my hardest maneuvre due to eye trouble), etc. There are people who call themselves drivers and aren't.

I only posted after it appeared there may have been an offer.

..... and remember what Oscar Wilde once said (and probably Max Clifford, too) .....

..... and a bit of banter keeps the thread visible, preventing it from slipping away into the obscurity of page 2 (and beyond).

Can't help with the driving I'm afraid but interested to know more about the laser eye surgery. Can you keep us posted about how it goes please?

My gratitude for your concern, and apologies for any misunderstanding caused, as my post was an attempt at comedic effect.

However, it was based on a truth. It has recently been discovered that I have a small build up of fluid on the retina of my left eye and my consultant is currently seeking a second opinion from a colleague, with one of the possible outcomes being laser surgery - but this is still in the future and yet to be confirmed, as it is also possible that the fluid may dissipate by itself in time.

Although, if required, my consultant felt that only one treatment would be necessary, and I would be able to convey myself there and back, albeit probably public transport as opposed to driving; and it would more than likely be in Bern.

As and when laser surgery becomes an option I will attempt to remember and post any information that may help others.

P.S. - apologies to OP for side-issuing your thread ..... but at least it's keeping it current.

Taxi drivers are very poorly paid. They also have to take mandatory lunch breaks. Maybe ask a local taxi driver if he can help you privately.

Sorry - pleases forgive another hijack; and ceppych - I hope you're not put out at the reposting of one of your thread starters (and you've already put it out in the public domain before), but I had to laugh and felt compelled to post this:

From a previus thread:

Peanut-brain here has somehow lost 'Favourites' and 'Add to Favourites' which used to appear on the toolbar when I used Internet Explorer.
I'm running Windows 7.
I obviously stupidly let a 'friend' use my computer and am aware of several things having been changed.
The 'friend' is now en-route back to Canada and can't be contacted which maybe just as well as I might be tempted to be a bit rude.

I am 74 years old so computers aren't my strongpoint. That's my excuse anyway.
If anyone can help I'd be really grateful.
[unless I've missed the irony]

If it was the weekend I'd do it for free if you paid my ticket to lausanne! Good luck anyhow!
