English guitar teacher in Zurich needed

I've been living in Zurich for 3 months now, and I still haven't been able to find and English speaking guitar teacher, so if anyone knows an English guitar teacher or is one, could you please contact me? And if possible, it would be great if the lesson could be at home, but if not then that's not a problem. Thanks =)

Re: English guitar teacher in Zurich needed

I saw a flyer today for guitar lessons from a student at the ZHdK. They offered lessons taught in German, French, English, or Russian.
Good luck!

Re: English guitar teacher in Zurich needed

I've been playing for a year and a half, so I'm moving onto intermediate. My previous teacher taught me a couple of scales, and we focused on songs that I liked during the lessons, and he taught me the chords and the strumming to it.

Hi,
I'd love to help, but I live in Saint Gallen. I have a studio here if you are ever in the neighborhood.

Re: English guitar teacher in Zurich needed

My son & I learn from a Swiss guitar teacher who is fluent in English - he even knows that 'b' is actually called 'b' by everyone apart from German speakers (who call it 'h', and 'b flat' 'b').

Not sure where his main studio is, but he also comes to my son's school near Stadelhofen and takes students on two afternoons a week there. Excellent guitarist, he can teach a whole range of styles including classical, spanish/flamenco, rock, folk and blues ... he just offers stuff until you find something that grabs you, then focuses on that. If you want the broad spectrum, he can teach a few styles in parallel too - but will notice when a student needs to 'cut back' a little!
