Hello. I work for Magnolia International in Basel. We are the creators of Magnolia CMS, a Web content management system favored for its usability. I am looking for a book editor on a contract assignment.
We want to bring Magnolia CMS to new audiences and think a comprehensive book is a great way to do that. In 2010 we published a
Technical Guide intended for developers and system architects. This time we want to expand the scope and compile a comprehensive book on the system.
We have tons of material to work with: articles on our
documentation site,
community wiki,
white papers and
blog posts. If you have editorial and publishing skills,
get in touch and help us write the book.
You could be a technical journalist or a member of the Magnolia
community. Experience in delivering electronic publications is a must. Key skills are editing, organizing text into logical book format, and identifying and writing missing chapters. Ideally you have technical knowledge of content management systems and Java. Prior experience in editing a book on a software topic is a major bonus.
To avoid confusion, this is not a proofreading job. I am not looking for someone to correct spelling. Cover, layout, typography design and printing are not the key tasks in this phase either. Putting the content together is.
