Job Opening: Office/Customer Service/Shipping

Job Opening: Office/Customer Service/Shipping
Hours per week: To be determined

Lifetrons Switzerland GmbH
www.lifetrons.ch

We are a medium sized, very successful company with a small office in eastern Switzerland.
We sell our products in airlines all over the world and are mostly involved in the duty-free market (but rapidly expanding).

We are looking for someone in the St. Gallen area (office is in Dicken) for general office work, answering telephones, answering customer service e-mails, controlling orders, sending shipments to customers and occasionally sending large orders to airlines from our warehouse in Gossau. This is an 'all-around' position. Our office is small, so everyone does their part to help out. It is a fun office atmosphere in a peaceful setting up in the mountains with an amazing view. We are relaxed and friendly, but take our work seriously. You could say that we are Swiss with an American flair.

The person we are searching for must speak fluent English and Good/fluent High German.
Swiss German and any other languages are a bonus.

Must have a valid work visa for Switzerland.
Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Switzerland.

Please send a cover letter and resume to me, Alynn Ramoie per e-mail.

Thanks! We are looking forward to learning more about you!

Probably not just the B permit but also B permit with authorization to work (lucrative something something approved it's written in the B permit).

A friend of mine holder of B permit got a job but he didn't have the authorization to work so it will take another month or so to do the process by his employer to get the work permit. I guess not all employers will want to do this?

That's just so mean...To get a job you need a permit B...to get a permit B you need an employment contract . Is there any way out of this vicious circle?

Having an EU passport doesn't automatically give you a work permit.

This specific company wants someone with an already issued work permit. It's in their right and power to do so. The paperwork can be quite overwhelming and can take a long time (mine took 3 months).

If people want to work in Switzerland and don't have a permit, they must find a company willing to ask for that permit, as many other people - European and non-European - had to do. No point in bashing companies that are not willing to provide this service for you.

Re: Job Opening: Office/Customer Service/Shipping

Actually an EU passport (leaving aside vagaries of the transitional period for Bulgaria and Romania etc) pretty much does give you a permit automatically - just pitch up at your Gemeinde with your contract of employment when you register as resident. Now *relocating to Switzerland* might take longer than the employer is willing to tolerate, but if you have somewhere to stay for a few weeks, then there's no problem. Either way, with an EU passport the employer has nothing to do.

I am not bashing anyone....I just expressed the view that the system is somehow contradicting itself...A bit like the chicken and egg thing! It's clearly the company's right to want to go round the red-tape where they can. However, reading : "Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Switzerland" did hurt a bit.

I do understand you. Most companies I applied to had, as first question: Do you have a permit? Most of them were not willing to go through the proceedures .

Worse than that is finding a home without the permit or a job contract... Now that is the real dog biting its tail.

Re: Job Opening: Office/Customer Service/Shipping

Sorry guys, just need someone who is available immediately, we can't go through the whole process of applying for someones work visa I have gotten some really great applications already in response to the ad! Thanks! If anyone else is interested just PM me and I will send you my contact information.

PS I agree the entire work/visa/ 'can't have one without the other' thing is terrible here (being an american and having already been through that process...) But I guess we Americans do the same thing to the Swiss when they want to work in the USA. So there ya go.
