We are a happy, open minded and honest family with two children, 5 and 3 years old. We are looking for a cheerful, honest and reliable nanny that will be caring for our children, have fun and great interaction with the kids.

As our children are still learning to speak English, we hope as well to find a nanny who has an interest to keep up and improve the children’s English knowledge.

We live in a town at the lake Zurich, about 30 min. away by train from Zurich main station. We would like to have a native english speaking nanny on Mondays and Thursdays (live out), approx from 8am to 7pm.

Hi! Apologies for posting this on the public forum but I appear to have reached my quota for messages for the day! I am Scottish (if that counts as a native English speaker!) and have a lot of experience of looking after children. I have two step-children, two nieces and a nephew.

I just moved to Basel, and I have a work permit. I am free all the time and reliable and there is nothing preventing me from travelling to work. I have a very positive outlook on life and I am energetic and fun around children.

@ Heather - I suggest that you wade round the Forum a bit - especially Forum Support and the Stickies at the top of each Forum section and you'll find the answers to a lot of questions you haven't asked yet.

You just quoted what Heather said, not the best way to make a first impression for a job.

Just my two cents - if a family is looking for a native English speaker, then you need to be just that. At a push, you could be the child of a native English speaker who has had a lot of practice in English, but anything else is just not what fits the job description.

I second what Longbyt said, which side of the lake would be useful to know. Best of luck with finding a nanny.

And about the lakeside: We live at the left side of the Lake Zurich, not the golden coast! But couldn't find a good name for this side of the lake. Are there any suggestions how this coast could be named?
