Looking for a Violin teacher for my daughter

Hello,

I'm interested in finding a Violin teacher for my 4.5 years old kid for a start. It's just that I dont know if this is a good age to start or is it still early?
Please PM me if interested with the details as the price, availability, etc..

Thanks.

For me it is a bit early. I have taught lots of kids (guitar) but under 6 or 7 you tend to not get very far, depending on the kid of course. Some have managed though so maybe worth a try.

Re: Looking for a Violin teacher for my daughter

I have taught a 4 year old violin and it definitely depends on the child. Some are ready to concentrate and some are not. It wouldn't hurt to try for a few months and if the teacher thinks it's too early then just wait a year.
I started when I was 5 (because I apparently really wanted to) and now I'm professional : )
5 is a perfect time to start. It's so easy for the littlies and they are way more relaxed holding a violin than many children starting older.

As a guide, if very young children really want to commit to trying an instrument then it will be great. I hope that helps.

Thanks all for your replies.. My husband and I now decided to wait 1 more year to go for it.. Then maybe she will be more ready for this..
