Does race matter for contributors?

Does black mean non-white? I.e. does it cover Indian, Chinese... How about mixed-race?

What language will this be published in?

Switzerland is a graveyard of English language magazine start-ups. I cannot for the life of me imagine how a publication limited to women only, let alone black woman in English would stand a dog's chance here.

How big is the potential readership? Have you thought this through??

So do you think my "Chinese Lesbian Tractor Driver Monthly" magazine hasn't got much of a chance then?

I was wondering about that too. Most of the black women I see in public seem to speak either German, French or some (African?) language I don't recognize.

Interesting idea. Perhaps an article could cover why there are no black female darts players here? Even yahoo! couldn't provide a satisfactory answer. The supposition that black people ought to be good at darts because they have lots of experience throwing spears was retorted with the comment:

"Black people who live in remote parts of Africa might very well be good at throwing spears but they don't play darts because there are no dart boards where they live.

Black people who live in the west where there are dart boards are not experienced in throwing spears because jungle game is a bit thin on the ground in the west. Duh."

And so it goes on. Good luck with the magazine. There's certainly a gap in the market.

I do not think starting a magzine aimed at black women (or any other demographic) is racist.

I agree with SC, however perhaps the OP is being misunderstood?

I'm not sure how valid 'white input' would be for an article titled "Taming Ethnic hair in Switzerland".....

This is possible, hence why i did not go completly militant over the issue.

If the white person worked in an African hairdressers???

At beauty/hairdressers college i am sure they learn about different hair types.
