Re: Need an electrician!

Hi Ary, the heating and hot water are included in the rent. The owner has to have it that way as an old building. Yes it is freezing when one goes outside, so put on layers. Though coat has a hood, prefer to put on a cap/hat. Sometimes when outside admiring the stars/moon good idea to have a hot drink to keep the fingers from freezing. Watching a cold beer in glass it has a freezing steam until a cold layer forms on top if left undisturbed. It is blissfully quiet here, sometimes at night might hear the deer or occasionally recently the squirrels, but have not yet seen a red squirrel this year - looking forward. Surprises me the amount of small birds we have here in the snow.
The snow came mid-December, in time for those on their Christmas/New Year holidays, as well as the Splenger Cup time. There was the odd day when half a meter of snow on the car - future note to self, another time get a place with inside garage space - tee-hee
So much snow what to do with it, where to go. Well the outside expensive build in barbeque completely disappeared sometime ago covered in meters of snow. The lighted life size decorative Deer disappeared in snow about 2 weeks after being put up. I have had fun putting the few holes in so light shines out of the snow.
My main problem is the different walking areas in the Town of Davos, nervous as have fallen on bum a few times - now got the hee bee jeebees in me about walking there, so if you see someone there walking slowly - you know it is me.

Before Switzerland, London Irish Kreta (Crete)

Where are you from?

Re: Need an electrician!

Thanks for the reply, I have had enough with snow cold. Joust came back from South Africa it was very warm this time of the year. Was enjoying Golf and summer for a while. It's freezing cold here in Zurich. Minus 11 tonight with slight wind and almost no snow.
I am from India but have been living in Switzerland for last 24 years. I used to live in Chur so been to Davos. I like Davos! Do you speak Swiss German? My English is not so good, I do prefer German! Good night and enjoy the snow, you seems to be enjoying there

Re: Need an electrician!

We were joking the other day about a snow golf course, problem being the white balls!

The cold in London is a damp cold, in Davos it is dry cold

Had some great Indian colleagues when I worked in London.

Was shopping in Chur last Monday, got some fish from Sagestrasse near the Calandar Building in was in the middle of bordello area, they get fresh deliveries by flight once a week.

My Swiss German is extremely limited. My OH speaks it Very Well.

Re: Your Exhaust Fan. Sorry not able to offer advice without seeing it. Normally I would check the light switches as often connected. When I have previously taken a cover off they usually work on a timer switch & have sometimes been able to switch it off. But maybe not a good idea for you to try that. Sounds like you need to contact your Landlord. If you have to get an electrician try to get one local and get a quote before them come.

Good night and keep warm
