We are a 4 head multicultural family (CH, USA,...) looking for an au pair from Jan to end of July 2010. My daughter is 4 and my son 1.
German OR English would be good even Italian would be fine. We live in Ottenbach in EFH, near Afflotern am Albis, 20 min from Zurich.
Preferably someone who already has a permit here (if american and soforth) or is CH or EU.
We have already had au pairs in the past, and have currently a babysitter but unfortunately she doesn't speak any of the languages we do and cannot communicate with the children at all. I am trying to build up a business of my own, and it is difficult when you don't have someone there you can depend on. We are also willing to pay for German courses or any other language courses.
We have our first au pair that is coming back for 2 months in summer (AUG-SEP) so we need someone until then and of course we are also looking for again another to stay with us after that.
Preferably a live in au pair as the law requires but a live out babysitter is what we have now as well and would also be ok.
The job is bascially taking care of the kids, and feeding the dogs, and light household (we have a maid 3 hours a week) and ironing once a week, cooking as well, which I usually do anyways.
You would have your own room, and TV and Internet and DVD, as well as a bathroom with shower.

Can you give me more details about the au-pair post? Like..what exactly do you want the au-pai to do? Is your girl going to kinderkrippe? How many hours per day I would have to work? From what hour to what hour? I would not be interested to live in, as I live together to my boyfriend. We live near Zurich. For the moment I am au-pair and I do cleaning also.

HI everyone, we just got back from our holidays in the states and I am back on track again sort of! so sorry for any delay or mis answering lately.
If anyone is still interested the position is still available. Mainly looing for Swiss or EU or someone who already has residency here in Switzerland (permit). As it is for the moment short term until end of July as is the plan for now.
After that I will be again looking for someone as of October for a longer period of time (1 year).

I moved to Switzerland from the US quite recently and would be very interested in knowing whether or not you have already found the help you had been looking for to watch your babes??

I am 24 years old (will be 25 in May) with my degree in psychology and education.

I have only been in Switzerland for a couple of weeks and have only just begun my quest to learn some German as well as French . . . so needless to say I am a fluent English speaker with minimal knowledge of German or French (although the effort and interest in learning are securely in place!!)

Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to read this . . . particularly if you have already found someone who matches what you are looking for!

Thanks for all the positive interested replies.. I have found someone now for until the end of JUly and am actually going to try out as of June a Krippe for my young one. As my daughter will be going to Kindergarden in August... I am trying different solutions...
