Certified English Teacher/Spanish Teacher

Hello! I am currently working as an ESL/Bilingual Teacher in NY. I will be moving to Geneva in late June. I am looking for employment in teaching, I have experience teaching both adults and children, though I have been teaching elementary school for 7 years. I am a motivating, energetic and dedicated teacher- who really loves to teach. I am hoping that I can find employment in this area, but I am open to other positions that may use my language skills. I am very outgoing and kind and I am looking forward to moving with my family to Geneva.

Thanks so much for any information provided!
Amaraya

Re: Certified English Teacher/Spanish Teacher

amaraya,

The good news is that there are lots of positions in Geneva for qualified teachers.

The bad news is that you will need a permit. If you already have a permit, then there is only good news.

Some of the information in this thread will be of help:
http://www.englishforum.ch/jobs/4427...king-work.html

I'm not sure, but this organization may be looking for part-time teachers for the 2009-10 academic year. http://www.alpe-langues.ch/pres_en.html

Also, you should check with all of the international schools in Geneva. They usually start hiring teachers at this time of the year, so there may be some openings.

Geneva is a bit too far for me to travel for work, but while I was searching for a position, I noticed some interesting options with the United Nations, some of the missions, and with the US Embassy.

Good luck!

Re: Certified English Teacher/Spanish Teacher

Thanks so much, I'm definately gonna try those links. I am to marry my boyfirend, who is French, so I will have a permit B, which I am told is sufficient to work. I am very grateful for the info you provided me!
Please keep in touch if you know of anything else!

Take care,

Amaraya
