The type of work we develop invoices the synthesis and improvement of artificial speech, using to tools developed by SVOX AG. Some of the tasks involve working with our text-to-speech (TTS) software, SpeechCreate, which is capable of producing speech from an input text; other tasks range from the evaluation of sound samples to more advanced levels of improvement, by direct manipulation of sound files. Other responsibilities might be taken upon mutual agreement, depending on experience and availability. Our final goal is to use our artificial voices in a way that matches the human voice, delivering high quality products. For that, we need the tuned ear of native speakers, capable of knowing where emphasis should be placed in a word, what the rhythm of a phrase is, etc.

Required: Besides your knowledge of the language as a native speaker, it is important that you have your own windows-based computer, basic computer skills, good internet connection and a valid work permit. Previous experience in the field of linguistics and/or voice processing would be a bonus.

For the time being, we are focusing our recruitment efforts in native speakers from certain countries, depending on the languages. In the English case, in particular, we are seeking for people that are from the UK since our voice systems are targeted to this country and the residents will use them.
