Job Description

JOB'S MISSION

The mission of the Oracle Application DBA is to monitor, maintain and operate the ERP Application and reporting systems. The jobholder will have to own, enhance and execute our procedures and technical environments in the DB (baseline, data organization and backend performance), cluster (RAC/CRS/GPFS), disaster recovery (Data Guard), backup (RMAN) areas for our Production operation and non productions environments. He will be as well responsible of the reporting databases with high volume storage and data streaming to populate row reporting information. These duties will require the jobholder to be the privileged technical interface of the Application DBA team with Reporting specialist and storage / OS IT Operation specialists.

KEY ACTIVITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Hereafter are underlined the main activities of the Application DBA:
• To participate actively in the operation and maintenance of Oracle EBS and Reporting
• Coordinate the DBA backend activities with the IT Operations team and the Reporting teams
• To own, enhance and maintain the DB and high availability components of the Oracle EBS solution and Reporting DB architecture (DB, DB performance, CRS, Data Guard)
• Define and implement strategy for periodic mandatory patching and technical baseline update for these areas
• Be the DB and CRS technical and best practice reference within the DBA team; develop and maintain standard operation procedures of these area, knowledge transfer to the team mates
• Proactively monitor, review and support backend environments incidents and performance; propose and implement changes to improve robustness, performance and smooth operations with best availability figures
• Actively support the Functional and Development teams during the build and implementation phases
• Own, administer and maintain tools for the Program One implementation: ITG, QC, Subversion
• Call analysis and site support through EMEA HelpDesk respecting the SLA with the EMEA sites
• Sites visits and on-site interventions as appropriateQualifications/Work ExperienceMUST

• At least 10 years of professional experience in IT department
• At least 6 years’ experience as DBA on complex / clustered / high performing Oracle DB architecture
• At least 2 years’ experience as DBA with exposure to Oracle eBusiness Suite
• At least 2 years’ experience DBA on DB with IBM AIX 5L
• At least 2 years’ experience in Oracle DB tuning and performance optimisation
• Experience in Production mode administration

DESIRED

• Experience as Application DBA on Oracle eBusiness Suite
• Experience in data warehouse DB
• Experience in SQL or Java development and tuning
• Experience of EBS implementation
• Experience with HP ITG (PPM), QC and Subversion (adv CVS
• Knowledge of the recent technology pack as XMLP, Discoverer, self service
• Experience with IBM WebSphere and WEB in general
