looking for work as project manager/civil engineer/builder

Hi,
now I`ve found a job ,need to concentrate on finding one for hubby. He is an experienced civil engineer/ project manager with an MBA.Anyone any ideas of the best agencies or any companies which may be hiring in French speaking Switzerland? He will basically consider anything at the moment. He can speak French albeit reluctantly! Would also consider small / large freelance projects.

Anyone in the construction industry any idea if there is much work about at his level or if there might bt the possibility of work in another field which may require similar project management skills? Used to managing large & small multinational teams/projects.

jo

Hi Jo,

Please let me know how your husband gets on with his job search as I am also an advanced plumbing and heating engineer looking for work!

You were correct about my father being the singer of Sad Café!

Kind regards - Garranos

Re: looking for work as project manager/civil engineer/builder

Hi,
Garranos, there seem to be plenty of jobs for plumbers about on construction jobsites.

My hubby is actually a project manager who is used to running major multimillion pound construction sites, high profile projects, with more of an emphasis on the managerial/project management side of things. I would think his skills would be pretty transferable, however he is slightly reluctant to seek a job at this level initially until he feels confident with his level of French. He can speak French and completed his MBA at a French university. However that was several years ago and he is a bit rusty! Feels it will take him ? 3 months to feel confident and so is thinking of trying to get a job ? Dec/Jan. However any help/suggestions would be welcome.

He has done the plumbing course basically out of interest and because we have just finished building a house here in the UK.However he would not be seeking a job in this field.

good luck with the job search.

Jo
ps hope you had a lovely day for your wedding

Hi Jo

have you come across this website for your husband?

http://www.schweizer-architekten.ch/...172&kanal=html

there has been PM work in their before (i havnt looked around the french speaking part tho), even in english. I would expect if he has studies in french, he should fly in.

best of luck

J.
