Slang Flash Cards. . Great gift for all your non-native English speaking friends

I love these flash cards, I friend of mine got them for me before I moved over here. I have them on my desk and some of them are just priceless. How to incorporate slang into your everyday life!

Re: Slang Flash Cards. . Great gift for all your non-native English speaking friends

The cards look like fun. I've read a pocket book about American slang once, it was named "King Kong, Spock & Drella" and is a bit dated by now. Its only expression I've encountered in the wild was "don't bogart that... cigar". Nowadays I usually check Urban Dictionary for slang vocabulary...

Now, can you please scan the "Money Shot" card?

Well, they did just come out with volume 2, haven't seen the whole deck yet. Perhaps it's in there. I just love they way they take everyday situations and the cheesy drawings.

One of my faves is "Don't front like you've been flossing -- gum disease tells the truth."

Hmm... Now would we be using the British or American slang meaning for the word fanny?

This could lead to slight misunderstandings!!!

I think a fanny pack and a bum bag are the same thing. Allow me to demonstrate.

No self-respecting person I know wears a fanny pack.

but given the picture I guess a fanny pack would be equally appropriate for both British and American usage?

Ah yes... I was wondering how you seemed to know all about "money shots" but someone got there before me...

...anything to do with only your eyes being visible in your avatar?

But we are digressing from the thread in question, it may be frowned upon...

Now back to the 300 Hail Mary's I was given for penance!
