Entry Level High End Audio

Idly browsing the web today, looking for things I may like to purchase, I came across Audio Consulting, a swiss company, making very affordable high end audio gear.

The thing that caught my eye was their entry level turntable, the R-Evolution Minima.

A thing of beauty I think you'll agree, and a snip at 24,500CHF. But if this was only the entry level, what would I be looking to purchase to seperate myself from the rank and file audiophile and truly distinguish myself among my peers?

Something like this...

Some might say it's hideous, but they don't have the same refined tastes as I. The bargain basement low figure of 95,000CHF is very tempting, and the 12,000chf option for silver wiring would finish it nicely.

Of course, a quality hifi is the sum of all it's parts, this lovely 15w per channel Tube Amplifier soon caught my eye.

I was almost blown away at how the manufacturer could provide so much for the small price tag of 265,000CHF, slightly less than the average supercar.

Have a browse around the website, I'm sure you'll find plenty more bargains.

Found here.

Are they equipped with a custom towel to throw over them in case of company?

Re: Entry Level High End Audio

Obviously the reason their website is so terrible is because they charge such low prices for their products.

There are literally people queuing up to buy such a reasonably priced speaker at 60,000 chf

Defo not a gift I'd be happy with, regardless of price tag.

Re: Entry Level High End Audio

and if you want to hook everything up properly, you need a few meters of this HDMI cable.

The review put it all into perspective

edit: aww they don't carry it anymore. Well so the reviews make sense, the actual price for the cable was $2200.99.

Re: Entry Level High End Audio

Just one question....Would I notice the difference..??

5000 chf equipment or 500,000 CHF...

More to the point would my complaining neighbours notice the difference...

'Shut up..!! it cost 500,000 CHF and I will play it as loud as I want'

At 15w per channel, you'd be banging on their door if they made any noise while you were listening.

Or you'd get your butler to do it.

Re: Entry Level High End Audio

The key to getting good sound from entry level stuff like that is a decent subwoofer. I'll be starting on one of these as soon as I get the old baby crib out of the basement.

LED actually

To answer your question, I guess it's because they don't want any high-frequency digital signals to spoil the audio quality. LCD would require these signals.
