ur kids must be REALLY happy with you! welcome!!
"...they are indeed save that they only see the old man behind the goblin though..." smiled the goblin continuing to introduce himself here, explaining "...me, I like writing I guess, yet the truth is that you humans for all your aspirations are somewhat loathed to read books at this point, yet at least you'll still read posts though, like you'll read this post now, ah but not to read this post though, ah no you'll read this post in order to see what you think by it, then you'll reply if motivated enough, you see I've been doing this for years where you humans are quite predictable as far as livewriting goes...", and with that the goblin bent down and picked a bit of red fluff out from between his toes, saying "...btw your carpet is the wrong color now, you humans should have a welcoming carpet that's green I say, yes but where does one actually write on this forum..."

I am not entirely certain whether goblins are good or bad beings. And you have admitted to stamping your feet! Have you thought of transgendering - it seems to be all the rage at the moment - rage, not as in anger, but popularity - and becoming a FAIRY?

the goblin thanked Merrylegs for her post and for her concern too, but reassured here by saying "...as you know englishforum.ch is doing a new membership drive and in order to facilitate matters somewhat, and to bring things more in line with recent NSA requirements too, the administration here has decided to redo the registration procedure, so all guests reading this post are kindly requested to simply fill in the blancs upon registering answering as truthfully as possible, for example..., ..."

Re: and then the goblin showed up

And just then the elves of EnglishForum made a visit to the caves of Google and realised that many web forums have their very own Goblin posting almost the same text every other day and wondered if all those rather sad sounding Goblins are all related. After that the Elves went to the Green Dragon and drank seventeen glasses of Tanglefoot before going into a 1000 year sleep brought on my reading the same, slightly modified text many hundreds of times.

"...ah yes, they're all me alright, that's how I air/edit/backup my posts, so whether it's writersbeat, or chirstian forum, lupusmctd forum, or any of the umpteen other forums I am on, of which there must be about thirty forums, there's usually an edit thread there where I'm conversing with you humans while editing through my posts still..." smiled the goblin who never posted the same post twice to the same place, but edited and edited and edited on, but then he continued "...thus if anyone googles my username it then becomes clear, where to be honest it's hard to keep up with the notifications as it is, yet there's only ever one to find those forums that are conducive to one pen, and of whom there are those who are willing to converse with me, where nothing is owed anyway, just I won't know if you have what I want without first trying to converse with you..."

Re: and then the goblin showed up

(in fact, reading through the above post it became all the more clear to the goblin why he actually needed to edit his posts, saying "...I envy you humans your ability to write so perfectly each time, whereas with me it always seems like I only notice the typos and the roughness of wording after the fact so to speak...", while outside in the streets below the night seemed a pleasing sound of passing cars upon wet surfaces, a far cry from the day's heat then)

My nana had a Goblin. Made tea at precisely 8am each day it did. But it never made toast.

"...well I had one too at one point..." replied the goblin, adding "...where they're very collectible today or so I'm told then, eventually though mine broke but I kept the teapot, where by now I've moved on from there to a daily ritual of coffee prepared in the bialetti way...", meanwhile geveva's intrusive sun was fast coming into play again, whereupon the goblin just sighed the truth of it all, saying "...I go to work to escape my home, where I then go onto the internet to escape work only to write about the pleasure of my home once more, oh the guilt about not writing about the decline of the western would as we have know it..."

Re: and then the goblin showed up

The EF elves like a cup of tea but only accompanied by a nice sit down and a biscuit. We used to like Garibaldi's and whenever possible a chocolate bourbon. We never resolved the great biscuit debate: are Jaffa Cakes biscuits, or cakes? The late Rev. Ian Paisley was often heard to thunder, "NO! We only want Orange Jaffa Cakes!". Perhaps Goblin could give us a review of Port Vale's performance yesterday.

"...ah at last, a post I can really get my teeth into, yes I was beginning to worry about this forum's ability to offer sustenance here..." replied the goblin thanking the elf now, but who hadn't be following the football much, adding "...truth is that geneva lacks garibaldi biscuits still and was until quite recently mind you without pgtips too, though to be honest I don't think the italians know about garibaldi neither any more than most folks would have come across penguins in their shopping...", whereupon the goblin momentarily looked out the window to gather words and to note that ominously clear heat spelling sky from its previous darkness, before turning back at the elf, asking "...while we're at it can you explain why greece holds a referendum to say "no" to more austerity measures only to have those austerity measures enacted by the government anyway..."

Re: and then the goblin showed up

The Bourbon restoration of 1814 did not bring about the invention of brown, creme filled biscuits. Nor were Custers Cremes on the menu at the battle of Little Bighorn.

It is a curious thing indeed that so many historical events share names with popular biscuits.

"...yes, I see what you mean, never thought much about it though to be honest..." replied the goblin trying to remember which other brands of british biscuits there were out there now, saying "...me, I like digestive biscuits myself, where written on the packet is "by appointment to her majesty the queen" too, spelling "no date with the her otherwise" then...", to which the goblin then imagined a long line of heads of state all holding their packets of digestives biscuits at the ready for their appointment with her, before the goblin returned to topic wherever that went, adding "...actually I am finding your conjectures most conducive to my coffee now, where I'm just trying to fit in I suppose..."

Re: and then the goblin showed up

"...just that greece is the forerunner of things to come..." went the goblin thanking the elf now, suspecting too that if most european politicians were susceptible enough to land their own counties into massive debt then they wouldn't have the backbone amongst them to haul themselves out of that debt afterwards, smiling "...sovereign debt does not have to be repaid, foreign debt even less so, greece's 340billion debt as it stands, plus 84billion latest settlement borrowed to tide that debt over till the interest owed eats through it too, leaves only two outcomes, greece's default or troika's forgive, and since the troika won't forgive lest the other countries will ask for forgiveness too it'll be greece's default then, but greece will not be alone when it does default since the others will leave the debt dance at that point defaulting in their turn...", in fact, the goblin was still wondering how this would effect switzerland here, smiling "...this problem is not going away just because the media won't cover it in any depth now, ah no doubt the debt dance will continue apace still...", meanwhile the sky over geneva where the goblin lived seemed apt this morning with fast moving clouds signaling an unseen change in the weather to come
