question for the "language corner"

I am keento enroll in a German language course in Zurich. My understanding of HighGerman is intermediate (my understanding of Swiss German is poor - it’s tough!),however, my ability to converse in German needs a BIG improvement. There are swags of threads related to courses, events, and tandem hook-ups (which is agreat idea), but I feel I am at that level where I need a structured (& regular) course.
Before you hyperlink all the previousthreads hear me out:
I work arotation schedule out of Norway. I am based in Waedenswil for 3 weeks out of every 5, soon to be 2 weeks out of every 6. To date I have not found a course that Iwould be able to attend without missing portions, and I do not fancy the 1:1 privatetution route.

Any ideas? Who can recommend a great school, with such courses (pref evenings) tailored for those regulary abroad.
Rod

Re: question for the "language corner"

Here you are: Berlitz Sprachschule in Zurich. I have no idea whether they're any good or not, or whether they're reasonably priced or not, but they offer complete flexibility with the lessons so you can work around your schedule- or so says their website. Hope that's what you're looking for.
Happy weekend!

Re: question for the "language corner"

Except for a 1 on 1 course, I don't see any other option. Personally, I'd go for private lessons.

Or.... how about taking German lessons in Norway?

Re: question for the "language corner"

I live in your city - the commune might have some lessons for you, even better choices for females. They are slow paced and catered to new arrivals pending their approval for settlement ( asylum seekers for example ), new arrivals such as a foreign spouse and so on. These are low cost and not more than once / 4 hours a week. More information from your Stadt Verwaltung, Florhofstr. 6

In CH, normally one adapts to the way things are, and not the other way around. Private lessons IMO are the best options for you. There are plenty of DE teachers who can be flexible enough to meet your needs. If you need a certificate of proficiency ( A1, A2, B1 etc. ), you might have to sign up at the test center and / or school, nearest being in Zurich city.
