What is the correct form to say in a shop - for future pick up - "I would like to order ..." in German please?

I get my tenses in a muddle

Why not keeping it simple:

ich möchte..... (followed by accusative)

Do you really need to know that this is the Konjunktiv2 of mögen, a Präteritopräsens modal verb with weak preterite Nachbildung and mixed conjunctive analogy form?

Frankly, I usually say just:

The thing I want in accusative + bitte.
