English to german translation

Hello everybody,

Does someone in this forum know some good certified and reasonable translator to translate

1. Birth certificate
2. Affidavit name change
3. Marriage certificate
4. Police verification certificate

I need to translate it for residence permit for my wife and dauther.

Did some one translate these kind of legal documents in past for residence permit of is it the local administration only demanding these translation.

All my documents are in english but I don't understand why they are asking for german translation.

Can anyone suggest some reliable good translation companies which will be acceptable for residence permit.

Thanks in advance

Regards
IG

There is one very important point to specify here: the translator has to have a special authorisation to do that.
Theese kind of translations have to be certified. Either your husband is an "official" translator that can certify translations or then the translation have to be certified by an attorney. If it is not the case, the translation won't be considered as valid.

Usually, the embassy of you country of origin here in Switzerland know translator who are qualified to do that or attorneys.

Of course, if you have everything and for free ... it's paradise.

Yeah, I have to agree there, these are official documents and will need to be "certified" as the correct translation by a government "official" of some kind. I would enquire at a post office, or the department of immigration about it.

Re: English to german translation

Thanks a lot for your quick response.

Yes Actually the local administration here clearly told me that this should be translated by certified translator.

I searched few of them in google but could not find any certified trasnlator so just thought if some one in this forum has done it earlier I found few translators in UK but the cost is too much and I am not sure whether their translation willl be considered or not.

BTW Sutter can you please tell me if this translation would be valid and and acceptable by local administration here in WIL.

thanks you for quick help
I would still like to know if anyone done this kind of translation before.

Regards
IG

Re: English to german translation

Have you bothered searching this sub-forum? There are plenty of your co-nationals that have described the exact procedure to be followed in your situation.

Although if you only have a short-term permit family reunion is in general not allowed...
