Hi everyone.
Me and my wife will be moving from Spain to Vaud in a couple of months because I received an offer to work for an american company in the area (all english speaking in the office).
We know very little very basic french so we will need to find good lessons right away (probably intensive for her and semi-intensive for me since I would be working during the day). We don't want to spend a fortune but it doesn't have the cheapest either, we know it's an important "investment" and are willing to consider different prices. (Sometimes more expensive does not mean better).
I have already heard about the french lessons provided by Migros and the Univ. of Lausanne among other.

Could anyone suggest other alternatives for french lessons in this area?.
Links?. Personal experiences?
Suggestions on which lessons/institutes are better than others?.

They were very good, and VERY cheap, 430CHF for 1 month of lessons, 5 days per week, full immersion, 3 hours per day. I dont think you will find cheaper.
Classes were small from 10-15 people per class.
I had Anne-Marie as my teacher she was great, very animated and made learning the language somewhat interesting as it is otherwise a pretty dry thing to study.
I recommend them, I was talking french within 3 months, and able to have a conversation within about 4 or 5 months.

If you already speak spanish, you wont have as much trouble, as you will find the languages very similar.

I work for a Food company in Vevey and my colleagues from all over the world made a lot of experiences with several Institutes around Lausanne. ESL, Migros and even with individual trainers, but since I know Jean-Francois and Anne Marie from Ecole Agora I only suggest them, I met both already 9 years ago in Geneva where they worked before they started their own business in Lausanne. My wife is from Russian and within 6 month she mad excellent progresses. One of my colleagues moved from Bresil to Switzerland with his family without any French Background and after 3 month Saturday classes we had already very good discussions in French. Ecole Agora mad a very good Job.
One of the key factor for this success is, they are the owners of the business not only paid teachers, the other is the special way to teach.
