German language course level

Hello everyone,
I would like to ask for advice on a weird thing that happened while looking for german courses here in Zürich. I went to several schools (e.g. EB Zürich, Alpha) and they all told me to enroll in a B2 level after doing the test. Then, I went to Flying Teachers and, according to their test, I should enrol in C1.3
Did anyone have a similar experience? Why is the level so different in this school?
Thanks a lot!

Probably because at the moment they have no B2 class, but they want your money...

They actually told me they have B2 too, but based on my results I should be in C1.3 level...I am just a little confused about how they evaluate levels at this point

Re: German language course level

Without knowing what kind of test you took it's difficult to say why they assessed your level as B2 or C1.3. Either way your German is clearly quite good, so why not take a trial lesson at C1.3 and if you can't handle that ask to go down to B2.

With languages I would always aim for my level or higher, in the end these levels are not set in stone. So someone towards the higher parts of B2 is gonna be very close to the C1 anyway. I don't see a big deal.

Re: German language course level

Actually I also had a weird situation occur with flying teachers after I took their placement test. (how awkward that they have to call you with the results and cannot view them ourselves )
I would suggest trying out the class or taking the test again. Did you guess on some of the answers and by chance this upped your score?
