Learning French in the Geneva area

Hi
Could anyone please advice and recommend to me where I can take a good, comprehensive and intensive French course that will help me talk, write and read in French in a way that I will have enough French to help when I look for a job ( i.e. Not the "how the get by in supermarkets/shops/doctor level"...)

I live near Coppet so in the Geneva area

I speak some French already and I took a class for a year now in a language school nearbye with an excellent teacher but once a week only and it's not enough and they don't have an intensive course...and I feel that I can't really make progress like that...
Any names and links where you have good experience will be appreciated

Thanks a lot

Re: Learning French in the Geneva area

Hi! I just registered yesterday at the Université Populaire du Canton de Genève, it's CHF 50.- for annual registration and only CHF 50.- for the semester for 3 hrs per week of French classes. Yep, that's right only CHF 100.- total!!!

They are taking registrations now (you must register in person) and also tomorrow (see info below). I was intimidated to go, but you stand in line, then once inside...(don't worry they are nice and you can even get a registration form in English), there are tons of volunteers to help you, and you will take a 20 min quiz and then they grade it and they tell you which level you are and help you choose your class. Another short line and you pay and you're off and on your way. There are 2 locations for classes, one behind Cornavain at Collège Voltaire, and another location on Rive Gauche. Most of the classes seemed to be in the evenings. My class starts Oct 6th. Let me know if you have any other questions, am happy to help if I can.

INCRIPTIONS AUX COURS du 1er semestre 2015-2016 :
le lundi 7 septembre 2015, le mardi 8 septembre 2015 et
le mercredi 9 septembre 2015
de 8h30 à 19h00 sans interruption
à notre secrétariat : 23 rue du Vuache, 1201 Genève

Ooh, and I forgot to mention, I also priced the Swiss French School because I was also considering intensive options, but it was too pricey for me. They do unlimited classes for CHF 1200.- for 3 months.

I took classes at the University of Geneva. Here is a link to the programs they offer http://www.unige.ch/lettres/fr/fle/

If you are looking for something free of cost, you could sign up for a tandem language exchange at the Geneva Welcome Centre: http://www.cagi.ch/fr/reseau-d-accue...guistiques.php

The Croix Rouge offers some classes in return for a small fee, more here:
