Learning Italian in Ticino - lessons needed, where to go!?

Hi all,
I have been told that there is the possibility for 'free' (or near enough) Italian lessons in the local area from a friend of a friend, but I can't seem to find any information on this at all. Apparently there are options of morning afternoon or evening classes, with a small fee for books and materials needed etc.

Anyone know anywhere or got any info on this?
Thanks
Danny

Re: Learning Italian in Ticino - lessons needed, where to go!?

Hi there. I suggest you also join the FB Group for English speaking people in Lugano as they have loads of good information there.

I think you refer to the free course provided in Lugano, someone posted about it in the FB group few weeks back so once you join and search you should be able to find the info g

Otherwise the usual providers would be Scuola Migros, Scuola ILI or private teachers. Not sure otherwise for Chiasso, bet going over the border would be cheaper for language courses.. Having said that in Ticino you pick up basics fairly quickly as English is not so widely spoken.

For socialising with other foreigners Internations is the thing here as it seems.

Good luck and send PM if you wish any advise!

It's called "find an Italian-only speaking girlfriend".

I took that course.

Re: Learning Italian in Ticino - lessons needed, where to go!?

Just in case anyone was following this thread - a friend of a friend has said that there apparently are going to be courses running in Italy near or around Chiasso which are charging something like 20euros for admin and books, and then you can join the courses once a week for 2-3 hours. I'm finding out more info at the min if anyone wants it.....
