Hi all, I am due to come to Switzerland at the end of September, and would like to attend a language school in Neuchâtel, Berne or Bienne from the beginning of October. Does anyone know such language schools which offer intensive French lessons? If so could you please give me some web links or addresse? Thanks in advance!

The Neuchatel commune office has a brochure which will list all the places you can go to to pick up French. Anyway, this is the list I got from that brochure - I kept it even though I have already signed up for classes.

I've actually signed up with Ecole-club Migros because the fees are affordable and it's next to Place Pury so it's convenient for me to either take the bus or cycle there.

Anyway, hope this info helps.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I will check the schools in your list soon. Also I heard there was a language school called Inlingua which has different branches in many major cities in the country. Don't know if anyone attended it already and would recommend it?

Thanks meiteoh for your post. I also signed up for a course at the end of october with Ecole club Migros but the course was adjourned. Please let me know if there is any course offer at the end of November or begining of December this year.

I went to the language school offered at the L'Ecole Superieur de Commerce/L'Ecole Lycee Jean Piaget for six months earlier this year and it was great, would give it my full recommendation

We had classes every weekday morning, including a language laboratory where you can work at your own pace. One afternoon a week, plus the option of organized sports for a a total of about 18hours/week, before homework. I made some friends, went from an A1 to almost a B2 in six months, and had excellent teachers.

The only negative is the cost, it was around 4000 CH, though that is not bad for intensive classes when you start shopping around. Good luck!

Try ESL language school (www.esl.ch). They have a good reputation with head office and school in Montreux.
