Epfl ( Ecole polytechnic federal de lausanne)

hello

i am a IB(international Baccalaureate) student in an international school in saudi arabia, and i am very interested in going to switzerland for university, espically ecole polytechnic federal de laussane.

but the problem, it is not clear how they deal with IB
i hope if anyone who knows IB can tell me what the requirements for accepting IB students are, as i sent them an email two months ago and havent got an answer yet!!!!!!.

or can u guys just tell me how the application to the university should be done, do they accept predicted grades ??
when are the deadlines for the application?

and as a whole, would you recomend that school? giving that i am doing engineering.

thanks in advance

if it's more pressing, call them.

I have no idea about the school but if I need to make some important discussions, I resort to the old-fashioned way

Hello,

The Federal Office of Economic affairs has some info on their web site see here:

http://www.bbt.admin.ch/themen/hoehe...x.html?lang=en

This is at graduate level, mabye they can help with general entry, might be worth a try.

Good luck

John

Re: Epfl ( Ecole polytechnic federal de lausanne)

All the info about admissions based on country and diploma type (including IB) were quite easy to find on the EPFL admissions website. (link to page with relevant PDF files). As Lob said, however, for *important* things, it's usually best to phone and talk to a real person.

It's a great school, but just so you know, all bachelor's-level programs are only offered in French. They will recognize your English-language IB diploma, but to be accepted you'll have to demonstrate a good understanding of French as well.

Good luck with your application.

Re: Epfl

There is a very active international student society at EPFL: Xchange; they probably have many people in your situation. I work at the University of Lausanne, next door to EPFL, and in my experience there are a lot of students at EPFL who speak moderate, but not great English, many of whom also speak almost no French. You will certainly not be alone with your language abilities.
