Pukka German

Just found out about this site: www.pukkagerman.com

Quote:
Free intermediate to advanced German language podcasts to learn to speak the real German lingo online. Our popular weekly podcast teaches authentic spoken German, common idioms, essential colloquial language and German slang words and phrases to help you understand and speak German like a native.
It's not Swiss German, but looks like a good resource.

Re: Pukka German

Hi Simon!
Thanks so much for your post about our Pukka German podcast! I found your post URL listed in my web stats and I'm not sure I'd have discovered this cool forum otherwise :) I see you're based in Lörrach and work in Basel. I commuted to work from Freiburg to Basel for a few years myself.

Although I gave it a good crack, I never did completely get my head around Swiss German so I would be happy to improve myself. I hope that you and other englishforum.ch users find our Pukka German podcast useful. Lisa and I welcome feedback and episode suggestions.

Since we try and focus on useful spoken German including idioms, colloquial language and German slang it would perhaps be fun to try and gather some typical Swiss German expressions. With some suggestions from you folks, perhaps we could do a Swiss German episode. The pronunciation would be difficult for us but perhaps we could get a Swiss German on the show!

All the best to you and all englishforum.ch members,
Tyler

Re: Pukka German

Hello,

I just found this website today (via google) and have been laughing all day long...I thought i would be altruistic and share it on EF but seems I've been beaten to it!

It's a great site and a breath of fresh air from the more formal learning. I can't wait to try out the phrases (uh, if i remember them)..
