Hi there, I'm an English-speaker looking for a German-speaker to do a tandem.
i) language(s) that you are learning, including level
German - around B2/C1 on a good day.
French - formerly fluent but now rusty!
ii) language(s) you speak natively
English - I'm from England. Apparently I don't have a strong accent and am easy to understand.
iii) your location
I work in Oerlikon so would be happy to meet up there after work/ at lunchtime or otherwise, central Zurich is fine by me.
iv) personal interests (eg sport, film, music etc)
Swimming, hiking, reading, travelling, cinema...
v) short introduction about yourself
I'm 27 and moved over to Zurich about 5 months ago from London. I learnt some German at school and have taken a couple of intensive German courses. I'm a lawyer by background and now work in Tax & Legal over here. I work in an office where almost everybody speaks Swiss/High German as his/her first language and I am keen to be able to communicate better in German as quickly as possible!
It'd be great to meet some new people for a friendly chat over coffee. Please PM me if you're interested!
Victoria

Hi there,
I am new to Lausanne and would like to improve my French via a tandem language exchange. i) language(s) that you are learning, including level
French: I did have French in school (a while ago though) and took two Alliance Francaise courses to brush up before moving here. I guess my level is
around B2 (reading, understanding is very good, sleaking myself is god, writing is poor). ii) language(s) you speak natively
My native language is German. I have also lived 6 years in the US and 6 years in The Netherlands. So my Dutch and English are pretty good, just with a slight German accent. iii) your location
Lausanne iv) personal interests (eg sport, film, music etc)
right now I would like to learn more about Lausanne and Switzerland, I like to read, travel, arts, movies, music. v) short introduction about yourself
I am 41 and have just moved to Lausanne. I would like to practice my French in exchange for German (English or Dutch) and at the same time get to know people and the city\culture etc. I have learned Spanish in Barcelona via tandem exchanges and I think it is a fun way to learn and practice. I have time in the evenings or weekends and prefer relaxed conversational tandem exchanges.
Bis bald, see you, tot gauw, hasta pronto or a bientot.

I'm a fun and interesting person. I think that a good combination of discipline and social learning (no problem with having a joke once in a while to stave off boredom) = good language learning. Contact me if you'd like to do a German-English (or Polish) exchange.

I have three years of ESL teaching experience (English for academic purposes, TESOL training) which may be advantageous for you. If you don't mind a "teleteaching" tandem exchange (for now), let me know!
