German. Finished B2, about to start into C1 course but I'd like to get through it with as much help and practice as I can get. I don't have so many chances to speak it, let alone with someone who will correct minor errors. ii) language(s) you speak natively
English. But I can also provide an introduction to Irish iii) your location
Zurich iv) personal interests (eg sport, film, music etc)
I cook. I love to eat out. I read a bit. I hike a bit. I like TV and film whenever I get the chance. v) short introduction about yourself
I've been in Zurich two years, and am pretty comfortable with German. Now that it's jobseeking time, I'd like to stick around German-CH. So it's time to get my German really functional, for potentially interviewing (and of course working) in this lovely language
Thanks!

Hi there,
i) language(s) that you are learning, including level
German (B2 it seems) ii) language(s) you speak natively
French iii) your location
Zurich iv) personal interests (eg sport, film, music etc)
Badminton, travelling, nice food v) short introduction about yourself I recently moved to Zurich from London to live with my boyfriend and I am looking to improve my German conversational skills.
I had a few tandems in the past: it's a fun way to learn a language and meet new people. So if you're interested in building up on your French and willing to correct my spoken German (the stricter, the better ) over a drink, drop me a line.
(.... I would also be happy to swap French for English)

[quote=Hsiang;480954]Tandem language learning is a method of language learning based on the mutual exchange of language between tandem/language partners. Ideally, each learner is a native speaker in the language that the other party wishes to learn. it affords a unique opportunity not only to practise a language with a native speaker, but also to get to know a local, through whom one may learn about the local culture, politics and current affairs.
In EF, we have a wide spectrum of native speakers as well as people who are learning not only 1 of the swiss official langagues, but also other languages, it seems a waste not to approach them for help with langauges. Folks who wish to engage in language exchange should post a message with the following info:
i) language(s) that you are learning, including level
German mid-A1 to A2
ii) language(s) you speak natively
English
Japanese (basic to intermediate)
iii) your location
Zurich, but willing to travel a reasonable distance
iv) personal interests (eg sport, film, music etc)
Photography, running, music, politics, business, writing
v) short introduction about yourself
I am very motivated to improve my German and desire a tough but patient language partner to help me progress. I am a native US English speaker and have also lived in Japan for a few years. It's been about 5,6 years since using the language but I can help you learn some Japanese, if interested.
thanks and have a great day!

Woman-30 years old- Chemist I’ve been living in Switzerland (Ticino) for one and a half years. Even though I’m learning Italian, I am mostly interested in tandem with English speakers. My level used to be good when I lived in San Francisco (2006-2008) but I would need to practise again with native speakers. Of course I will also be happy to meet any new person, no matter the language we will have to use . Juliette |
