Tandem language learning is a method of language learning based on the mutual exchange of language between tandem/language partners. Ideally, each learner is a native speaker in the language that the other party wishes to learn. it affords a unique opportunity not only to practise a language with a native speaker, but also to get to know a local, through whom one may learn about the local culture, politics and current affairs.

In EF, we have a wide spectrum of native speakers as well as people who are learning not only 1 of the swiss official langagues, but also other languages, it seems a waste not to approach them for help with langauges. Folks who wish to engage in language exchange should post a message with the following info:

I am taking a German course at the Migros school at A2 level. The course seems to be entirely grammar-based though, with little conversation.

I am a dual Swiss-American citizen but I was born in the States and never learned any German. I've actually lived in Brisbane Australia for the past 4 years and have just moved to Zürich (last week!) for the next 8 months.

While I'm here I'm very interested in improving my conversational skills - I'm not at all happy that the course I'm taking is mostly grammar. I can converse ok if you don't speak too fast ;-) I have loads of free time so please send me a message!
