German language schools in Zurich

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum-this is my first post.

Can anyone suggest any good language schools/programmes in or around Zurich? I'm interested in standard German and Swiss German, and would prefer fairly intensive courses. I speak basic German now.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere-I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

Thanks,

Perla_Margherita

Try http://www.berlitz.ch/en/zurich/
Berlitz is a bit pricey, but has smaller class sizes then some of the other language schools.

Bellingua

Bellingua is excellent if a little pricey. I took the intensive (Mon to Fri) and found the teachers passionate and my fellow students very committed.

I know that Hull's are starting intensive classes after the October holidays. 3 times a week or on Saturday mornings.

Re: German language schools in Zurich

I have just completed my A1 course at Bellingua and I find the class to be quite well structured.

The books used by Bellingua are Lagune by Hueber. A course book and a practice book are required for the A1 course. If you are interested in enrolling in Bellingua and wish to purchase the books for A1 level, please feel free to PM me.

Bellingua worked well for us, good teachers, challenging curriculum, and ambitious fellow students.

Language schools in Zurich

I wonder if anyone can help.

I am looking for a German course to do in the evening, there are many schools but most of the classes start at 6pm. I don't work in Zurich but I live here. Can anyone recommend a school where classes start maybe from 6.30 or 7pm.

Thanks

Re: Language schools in Zurich

Rosasprachen has a number of classes starting somewhere between 6 and 8pm. Classes are max 5 people (mostly less, I was always with no more than 2 others) and prices are very reasonable. They are opposite the casino in Zurich and offer a free trial lesson. http://www.rosasprachen.ch/

Good luck!

Re: German language schools in Zurich

There are German classes with ECAP Zurich which is located in Neugasse, not far from HB station. A friend of mine was learning german there, so I cannot personally vouch for the school, however she was very happy and it is not expensive with good teachers.

I recommend Allegra Sprachschule (behind Globus on Löwenstrasse). I completed B1-B2 there and found the teachers, especially Stephanie to be very good. Courses are well structured, and they prepare you for the exams which you have to do internally, and have the option to do an official Goethe or TELC exam. There's a maximum of 10 students per class.

Flying teachers offer evening classes from 18.30, twice a week, and intensive courses for five days a week for very good price! I signed up for it and it starts in Feb!

Re: German language schools in Zurich

I took A1-B1 at EB Zurich, which is supplemented by the Kanton so it's not as expensive as some. I really enjoyed my teachers. They offer German and Swiss German courses.
