I am looking for a native Japanese speaker who is interested in an English/German <--> Japanese tandem learning arrangement and lives in the Basel region?

I need help preparing for the JLPT Level 3 which I will sit in December. While my conversational Japanese and listening comprehension is intermediate, as I have lived in Japan, my written Japanese is still basic. I mainly need help with grammar and kanji.

In return, I can teach written and/or conversational English (international) or German at all levels.

No, not yet. Regarding schools, I only know that the Volkshochschule (at least the one here in Basel) offers Japanese at various levels in the fall. I may resort to going that route come September. I presume the Zurich Volkshochschule (http://www.vhszh.ch/) will have such offering as well after the summer break.

Japanese is taught at Migros Klubschule. Perhaps you can ask Mr Hsiang, who, I understand, is about to start a course there.

Hi, I speak/read/write/etc Japanese. We just moved here from Japan some time ago. Actually, Im not Japanese, but have JLPT level 1. I got it in 1999, when I took it for fun. I lived in Japan since I was young, so am a native speaker, without the authentic look. Obviously I speak English also.

Anyway, my German sucks. So, some time together could be mutually beneficial.. Where do you live? If we are close to each other, we could grab lunch, and see what we think. I have a young family, so time wouldnt be so easy to find, but I have been thinking it could be quite flexible in the way you mention.. I can swap my 日本語 for your deutsche (ahh if only it were that easy...) Give me a PM if you like.

@Rustygraben, I did visit the Migros Klubschule for a trial lesson which I found quite good and would recommend, although not suitable for me personally my test preparation for Japanese Proficiency Exam 3-Kyu. Thanks anyway!
