| Re: German course for english speakers
When I learned English and French in school in Germany the courses were taught entirely in German: all the explanations of grammar, sentence strucutre etc. were done in German.
Alas, saying that dates me a bit... it has become the norm for languages to be entirely taught in the language you are learning, especially in the large language schools. But I do look back and sometimes think it can help to get a clear explanation of some of the more difficult grammatical rules in your native tongue... Perhaps having a teacher that can move back and forth with you after class or in private sessions might help.
