Swiss German is never written with the exception of txt-speech and graffity.

So the copies of Jonathon Livingston Seagull and The Little Prince,
in Swiss German, sitting on my bookshelf are just figments of my imagination, then?

But are you saying that it is a written language just because a handfull of books can be found?
I was pointing out that your "never" absolute should have been a "rarely" comparative.

I'll leave it to someone else to enter the semantic minefield of whether writing in an
(allegedly) "spoken-only" language makes it a written language.

Many people on this board do this. Aggravating.

Sort of. When Swiss are amongst themselves they will for sure speak Swiss-german because that's their "mother tounge" and what they are comfortable with. But as soon as they know non-Swiss are involved in the conversation (or if you ask them) they will switch to high-German unless there are Germans present, then the Swissie will revert to guttural Ricola sounds regardless of whether the Germans understand them or not. Since "buisness enviornments" usually have a higher mix of foreigners than most other places, I'd say your need to understand Swiss-German isn't that critical. ...but of course if you feel the need to learn it, go for it! ab esch isch niit gaanz eifach

You are wrong. This is considered the "more melodic" form of German.
