Re: Multi-lingual celebrities

There's no surprise that Johnny Depp could speak French since he's married to Vanessa Paradis but Sandra Bullock speaking German, that is just WOW!

so no excuse to all you folks who's already been here for more than 5 years and still struggling with your German or French.

Sandra Bullock grew up in Germany part time, her mother was a German opera singer.

Lindsey Vonn, the American skier seems to pull off a pretty good German, much better than Lance Armstrong's French.

Sandra Bullock does have a German mother but some of the others are quite inspirational, Kim Cattrall for example hails from Mossley Hill, Liverpool.

I'm finding that clips of Roman Abramovich speaking English are rarer than rocking horse poo.

Wow!! he must be good to have fooled you Angela

According to the Wiki, he ain't an Argentine

Quote:
Mortensen was born in New York City. His American mother, Grace Gamble (ne Atkinson), and Danish father, Viggo Peter Mortensen, Sr., met in Norway.[1][2] His maternal grandfather was from Nova Scotia, Canada.[3][4] His family moved to Venezuela, Denmark, and Argentinian cities Crdoba and Buenos Aires, where he learned Spanish. His father managed chicken farms and ranches in Argentina.[5] They remained there until Mortensen was eleven, when his parents divorced and his mother moved back to New York. He moved with his father to Copenhagen, Denmark. Mortensen and his father eventually went back to the United States, where he graduated from Watertown High School in Watertown, New York. After high school, he returned to Denmark and became a truck driver in Esbjerg, Denmark, before again returning to the United States to pursue an acting career

I believe Rupert Everett can speak Italian as he acts in some Italian cinema. Sadly can't find a better clip:
