Deutsch Zertifikat Prüfung [test] Materials anyone?

hi all,

just one question...does anyone in here within the Zurich area still have their materials used for their Deutsch Zertifikat B1 Prüfung? I just need to review for the examination while in the middle of my job hunt.

since my German skills in is not getting any better, I would like to do some reviewing and for those of you who took the examination and still have their materials like Book and CD, i hope that anyone of you can lend it to me since you might not need it anymore.

or if anyone of you likes to sell it on a second-hand price, lemme know. appreciate it much. thanks 'yol.

You might be able to find some B1 instruction book at a bookstore like Orell Fuessli. I took the test awhile back and didn't really use anything else other than my instruction book. Then again, I was taking B2 classes at the time.

I think that TELC has a practice test on one of their websites.

Good luck!

you may want to check out the local library too for CD's and books in preparation for your exam.

It was work, but it wasn't too bad. I thought that the toughest part would be the speaking part, but I was pretty much perfect with that. The hardest two parts were the fill-in-the blank part with the seperable verbs and writing the letter.

One thing that really threw me off was at a point in the listening comprehension test where they used a term I'd never heard before. Eventually though, they defined what it was in the context of the dialog, and I did pretty good on that part as well.

I think it's a good idea to do the B1. I haven't done the B2 test though.

from which school/organizer were you able to take the examination? i had my 6-month intensive german course with klubschule (migros) pretty expensive but it was really intensive.

in relation to the examination proper, one of my colleagues complained about the hearing part too difficult to process, was it the same on your case? or just need to sit right in front or close enough to the player so you can have better chances of hearing it right the first time?

i guess it is normal procedure to take the B1 first before you can proceed taking up B2 or is that optional to jump right on to B2 and skipping B1?

i did well in the hearing part and i didn't prepare to sit in front. the room where i had my exam had speakers all over the place, so it was not really a major issue. i consider the part though where i had to write a letter a bit difficult.. the topic then was that i spent a vacation in Schwarzwald and i have to write somebody how it was, what i saw there / my experiences. i was clueless then because i haven't been to that place & i really had no idea, if it was in any way special or what.. in the end i created a picture of Schwarzwald in my head and wrote the letter..

the oral exam afterwards is not difficult..

here's a link of the Zertifikat Deutsch exam at the goethe site:

goodluck...

Has one taken the B1 recently? Could you kindly share your experience? Which part would you recommend one should concentrate more on? (personally I am most worried about speaking).

Any tips would be helpful!

Also, if anyone has any test material/sample papers to share/sell would be grateful. Thanks.
