For basic translations try something like Google Translate

Should it be Ich habe Sie - I have you?

louise, you didn't say what you needed the translations for...i hope you're not planning on singing "rosmarie und i" on stage. coz i'm giving you a non-poetic (fast) translation.

interesting. have just realised that with this text that polo hofer is reliving a swiss teenie vacation ala 1970 or so. well, whatever. not for me to judge. hope you can spruce up (poetisize) the rough translation.

rosmarie und i

oh, the we dreamed the day and thought it would always be like this.

oh, we slept and hours on the beach
we ran naked in the water, searched for clams in the sand.
after that until spain, a hot summer long.
a song on our lips and heart ready for action.

refrain: it seems to me as though it were yesterday. when we were together, rosmarie and me.

somewhere between barcelona and the cliffs of gibraltar,
we bought spanish boots, a wonderful pair.
i wandered in them, through sun and ice,
what we had together, no money can buy.

refrain: it seems to me as though it were yesterday. when we were together, rosmarie and me.

rosmarie and i are back in our well-behaved country,
but already our paths have gone apart.
i haven't seen her since then, don't think about it much,
but sometimes i remember what i thought i forgot a long time ago.

refrain: it seems to me as though it were yesterday. when we were together, rosmarie and me. rosmarie and me.

I very much doubt you would get very far translating Polo Hofer lyrics with that. Not only does he use a lot of swiss german but also swiss german wordplay.

IMO Only a swiss german native speaker could translate it properly.

Swiss German is way too sophisticated a language for Google Translate.

Thank you so much ! I had a Swiss boyfriend 20 years ago and he says these 3 songs remind him of me. Any chance of you translating the others too ? It's impossible to get translations in the net. Thank you very much !

Yeah right anti-swiss german bias from Romandie, how surprising.

ah-ha ha, you can't point fingers to me about that oh no. I lived in both parts of Switzerland equally long and know both mentalities inside out as so many others do.
Leaves much room for teasing you know!!!
