| | | Re: Experience/Reviews with movecorp.co.uk
I used them to move some boxes of stuff over from the UK, delivered about 3 weeks ago (the day before I got here).
Cost: They did it quite cheaply as had a van going anyway, so you could get lucky with timing etc, check when you contact them...
Delivery: Everything arrived intact, which is the main thing!
They were a bit vague at first about delivery times/forms needed, but in the end all was ok, and that may have been to do with the rush to get it on that shipment (and hence at reduced cost).
Forms: had to fill in a detailed-ish form of contents, insurance form (if you chose to take it) and the swiss customs form. They provided examples of all of these to make it easier to fill out the right amount of detail.
Don't think anything was checked as all the boxes were still sealed when they got here, but I hadn't put anything questionable in there!
Hope that helps!

Hi.
We have used them as well to move all our household goods from London (from Big Yellow storage) to Zurich in November. They were fairly competitive with their quote but delivery was 5 days later then what was initially suggested by them (we had a shared load rather than individual load). Most items were ok, some cracks and chips here and there but then I guess that's just the risk when moving long distance. Had some issues with the forms though - they had all the forms from us (inventory, insurance, etc) but 1 day before delivery their german sister company who was doing the border checks for Switzerland called as they had no forms from the UK. So I had to rush to get all the forms sent to him via email which was a bit of a pain.
Overall they did an ok job.

| | | Re: Experience/Reviews with movecorp.co.uk i have got a quote from them and it is cheaper than any other companies, so far i tried to book the pick up date, and they couldn't tell me but asked me to give them like 10 days window gap. that means within 10 days they could come anytime and i wouldn't know when. so for the cheap price sake, maybe i could work around it. however, i have received rather negative comments from the competitors, and i never mentioned movercop to the competitors....now i don't know if i should still go ahead.. |

Do any of you have experience with them for a move from Switzerland to the USA? Their price seems reasonable but just worried about our stuff going from here to UK to USA.

I used them moving from spain and it was a nightmare. Although other people seem to have had more positive experiences I certainly did not, they did refund me so that was ok but my plans were seriously inconvenienced... http://www.removalscompanyreviews.co...mpany/movecorp |

Hi Alison,
We used Movecorp this last week, a heafty move from a house in the UK and a house in Germany, they were just superb. They moved everything without a hitch. The admin staff were polite, friendly, and more than helpful getting back to us in double quick time with any question we had regarding the move.
The crew were brilliant cannot fault them even smiled while unloading 2 lots so mannerly beyond belief.
We can recommend they to you and anyone else without a qualm.
Super company, superior service.
Price was good they beat their competitors by a long way.
Good luck with the move.

We have not used Movecorp, but there is one company in the southern part of the UK I would DEFINITELY NOT USE. Feel free to PM me if you need their details.

No experience with these, but good movers don't come cheap. I'd rather pay more now with a reputable firm, than thinking there's a cheap way of moving. We went for the cheap option once, took nearly a year, from Germany to Seattle. They were basically waiting to fill a container with everybody else's gear as well as ours. When it did finally arrive, the logistics company in Seattle said it got held at the border coming from Vancouver, as, get ready for it...'the entire train had to stop so as to x-ray our container', which cost more money on top of the original 'shipping fee'.

Hi yes so true its hard to find a decent removal company.
WE are just so lucky we had one, they were not the cheapest but less than a lot of them. They were spot on and moving from 2 houses in 2 countries is no easy task and they did it with a smile and got all here safely.
I can recommend them to all.

Very bad experience! We booked them for an international move and the week before our scheduled move date, they told us they could not accommodate us!

We also had a very negative experience both at pick-up and delivery from the UK to Germany. They over-promised on timing, were not always trying to find solutions and blamed it at times on us, arrived late for delivery and wanted us to pay for extra costs incurred such as rent of a smaller truck to organise the delivery, most of our fragile items were chipped and scratched. After heavily complaining, they offered a small compensation, which we felt did not reflect the level of poor quality of the service and the high level of frustration we experienced.

WE did unfortunatelyhave an issue with the removal company the day after the truck had left, we found some items missing.
Immediate phone calls to the crew whom did not answer, then on to the office in the UK. We were told no and no and no items. A large glass was missing and expensive. After the Christmas hols I mailed again and told the office they were in breech of contract for non delivery of goods.
The same day 2 items found and one not, the glass, we have a delivery time but no date as yet for the 2 items and the company are paying for the glass when we get the quote for them.
Other than this hiccup they were very good time wise we did have to wait a long time but with travelling etc., and the time they have to take off its just something we had to put up with.
WE do hope to recieve the missing goods the week of the 21st Jan but no date confirmed as yet.
Let you know.

Such mixed reviews is making me doubt wanting to use them. I hate having to pay so much for everything not to go on time or smoothly. Any Zurich to USA reviews?

You seem to have a specific axe to grind.

Livefornow Hi,
WEll that is just terrible. I cannot say we were treated that bad by
Movecorp.
They did find out missing items, which are being delivered tomorrow
hope!! The glass that was not found they are paying for it, also hope!
Will post when its all finalised.
You got a really raw deal, our director Vicky was superb in all aspects
and kept us informed on a regular basis.
I have to say I would use them again as all in all they did keep to their
schedule as said.

It sounds like you either get a good deal or bad, depending on who your move coordinator is. I think I will look into other companies.

Its so true depends on the director of the move.
Like everything in life you get good and bad.
Wish you well with the move.
Just glad I am done with it all now.
Oh just got a mail items waiting confirmation of
delivery not confirmed now for tomorrow.
Hmmmm wait and see.

Hi people,
Movecorp did send 2 of the missing items as promised by
TNT.
They have offered to pay for the glass which is fine by us.
In any move there will be casualties. We wish there were
none, but its out of our control.
I would still use them in the future but do not want to move
like that again for at least 5yrs.
