Re: Moving to UK - what to do with Driving Licence?
I understood it that you gave it to the DVLA... checkout the government's website http://www.direct.gov.uk but you know how it can be sometimes. Hearsay.
Re: Moving to UK - what to do with Driving Licence?
Don't hand it in, you can get a copy of your driving record before/after leaving as a record of your Swiss entitlement if you come back.
UK will usually exchange A&B categories perhaps fklnp depending on when you passed. The question is does the date on your CH license show the Swiss pass date or your Korean?
UK is only obliged to exchange EU/EEA licenses. As CH is not in but is a recognized country, keep this in mind. As you're coming from a non-EU country you'll be absolved from the 6 month waiting period for EU residents with EU/EEA licenses. Good luck!
Re: Moving to UK - what to do with Driving Licence?
Thanks for the replies I filled in DVLA form D1 and they will send a UK license to me within 15 days. I have to do this within five years of being in UK. All at no charge too if you have had a UK license before. Very generous of them...
