I am going to leave switzerland end of June and I would like to take my car with me.
I have this car 4 now years but due to the fact I have hardly use it here I do not want to sell it just for very few money (is in great condition).
Do you know what is the process for deregister the car?

You should check the Customs and Vehicle registry in the country you are moving to.

I think the op meant what to do here. Germany for example has special export plates (red in colour). I would go to the Strassenverksamt and discuss the process about returning the plates. I imagine it being very straight forward. Just make sure you do return them. I heard of a story about a guy who got arrested returning into the country (he never returned his plates).... but that could be hearsay.

why not sell it for an outrageously high price then? say 95% of what you paid for it. it seems to be the way things are done here.

Thanks all for your feedbacks. I will bring the car back to Greece from were actually I have bought it. I have then import it to Switzerland and now I want to bring it back. I know quite complicated
Anyway the import to Greece is something I know.
The question was more about the process of giving back the plates.

I just went to the Kantonpolizei - Verkehtabteilung
They said me that I have simply to send the plates back to Switzerland per post:

Hi, if you are moving back to the EU, you have to clear customs and pay taxes in Europe from the first day on (silly but oh well...) I have brougt my car to germany and the process was fairly easy - just a bit of paperwork. When you cross the border to Europe, seek the advice from Customs on the European side. You need to prove that it is your car. You will get a customs form which you need to fill out including your future address. Mostly they will send you to customs at your destination. There you pay the taxes, change the license plate and they will inform swiss road and transport authorities automatically.
It isn't a big hassle, just paperstuff. Best of luck to you!

I think it’s not that hard..just return the plates back where you bought them and as easy as that .

I saW ZH plates when I was in San torini Greece. looked like they had been on there forever and so was the car.

Id honestly sell high here and buy cheap(er) in Greece.
