Question about home ownership

Hi,

I've bought a place in Switzerland (in Zurich). I have a question: what happens if I leave Switzerland? Can I rent the property or am I forced to sell it?

I'm british with a B permit.

I ask as an opportunity has been presented to me and I need to understand the full implications of leaving the country.

Thanks,

JC

Re: Question about home ownership

Presuming you have a mortgage, best to check with the bank about the specifics as well. Some may have limitations on this aspect as well.

I always thought rent was tax free in CH, as the OP already is taxed on notional rental income.

Of course there may be a tax liability in the UK especially as interest charged on a mortgage is not deductible.
