I am looking for some information and/or advice on tax statements while leaving Switzerland. I am leaving switzerland on 31st Aug 2011. I am located in Zurich, on a B permit since more than a year.

I called the 'steuramt' agency in Zurich about the half yearly tax statement for the year 2011 (until 31.08.2011) and they informed that I was an auslander and therefore, I would need to get in touch with QuellenSteurer (??)

Before I contact them, I would like to know if anyone has had such a similar experience, and if it is indeed possible to obtain this half yearly tax statement before I leave swiss and how ???

Consult your employer about this, he should be able to provide with the document or at least where to get started!

I am leaving Swizerland also on 31st August. If you go to de-register now (you can do this 30 days before leaving), they will ask you to give power of atourney to a tax advisor here in Switzerland.

They will not send papers abroad so you have to have a tax advisor here. Once you complete the form, they stamp it (Im talking about the Stadthaus) and they will contact your tax advisor directly, asking them to do a final tax return.

I am also leaving on August 31st and my canton (BL) required me to pay the taxes for all three entities prior to issuing the deregistration paper. I did not pay taxes at the source though and this may make a difference.

I would try to de-register and see what they require. I think each canton is different though.
