| | | Re: Leaving Switzerland Next Week for Taiwan and then Singapore Thank God | Quote: | | | | | You remind me of a song by Nine Inch Nails "Everyday is the Same" where he says "Sometimes I think I'm happy here
Sometimes, yet I still pretend."
Life is about more than "accept where you are and get over it". To me.
I've lived a lot of places. So I can compare and contrast what I want and what I don't want. Then I can tally.
Your attitude to me sound like some arranged marriage thing "well you will grow to love and accept him, just wait...just accept"
Nah, life is short, screw that. | | | | | What a tragic view of happiness you seem to hold. You're not happy so you assume nobody else is or they are somehow deluding themselves?
How do you know I haven't lived in a lot of places and this is the place I know I actually want to be?
Life might be short but at least I am enjoying mine and don't need to keep chasing a so far undefined image of it.
Good luck with that one...
EDIT: | Quote: | | | | | But did the engagement ring get sold before the door is shut? | | | | | Ah, suddenly it's clear...

We all know we are happy here in Switzerland and we dont need convincing otherwise. If someone wants to be tacky and brag, or is under the delusion that some of us live in Utopia, let them. Just wish him well and send him on his way.
Who wants to join me up here? The view from this high road is amaz-ing. I prefer the view of the Alps over tall concrete buildings any day
| | | | | Taiwan has mountains AND REAL CITIES:
In fact most of the country is mountainous.
I can have it all.

EDIT:
Ah, suddenly it's clear... | | | | | Uhm, how do I answer this... NO. No one is "chasing" they are "living". Chasing what? I had a good life in Washington D.C. I didn't dislike it there. LOL I just wanted to see more things while I had the opportunity, mobility, no kids, etc. In the end I might end up back there and if I do I won't be unhappy.
Even if I got married, I had no plans to stay, 2 years tops was the agreement and Singapore was always on the list. I"m simply accelerating the plan. I would never raise children here so they can have the attitudes I have seen in people here. Sorry, not for my family. Maybe good for yours.
