| And if you've had your taxes withheld at source... how do you wrap that up? I've been told that tax fililng for 2011 will be in September 2012. So I'm curious what happens if you leave before then. | |

You have to deregister, and the moment you deregister, certain processes follows on Tax etc.
We are in the process of doing this. Works like this (Kt SZ):
Time frame
-working in CH till 13.04.2012
-Tax return for 2011 had to be handed in before we leave CH (end or March2012). They have allready contacted us with a question, so they are working on this allready.
- Tax return for 2012: Gemeinde wrote a letter telling us to submit 2012 tax return by latest 30.03.2012

. Did not make sense since working till mid April. So went to Gemeinde and queried it, they had no problem at all to extend the 'deadline' and now tax2012 should be completed end of June 2012 (allthough we would file it long before that anyway). basically showed me that they are 'human' and somehow can make mistakes hehehe, but also it was great to get a extention on the tax form.
- If there is a house sale process involved ie Capital Gains tax: Been told that we would receive a provisional payment request from Tax authorities 2 wks before departure (they receive all the docs from the 'Notar'), and then we must submit final asap. This area is a bit of grey area for me, but I have been phoning the tax authorities and at best, this is what they have told me.
