Has anyone had experience getting rid of large furniture in Baden - to the recycling center or otherwise? I have been to the Gemeinde and Baden website, but no details available. Before I start my poor German with the Baden trash people, I thought I'd check here...

I usually disassemble my furniture before loading them. In Spreitenbach, you drive over the scale, unload your unwanted items, drive back on the scale and pay. In Wettingen, the men that work there give you the estimate.

There is a place in Gebenstorf (5412) you can go to called Relogis Frunz AG, Vogelsangstrasse 12. We took an old dishwasher there and didn't have to pay, not sure about sofas and whatnot. It's open on Saturday mornings.

The disposal of furniture, excluding applicances, is subject to a fee.
If you load up your car or van and take items to one of the recycling centres, you pay basee on weight. You can also purchase stickers from the Gemeinde which can be placed on items for disposal. They can omly be placed outside on designated collection days.

I haved helped leavers with collecting their items and rehoming them.

Why not just offer them for free here rather than paying for disposal?

Unless items are broken or soiled, I just don't see point in throwing them out.
